So about a week ago I did some arting for Challengers Comics art-blog (Challengers Assemble) here in Chicago. The theme for that week was Galactus, devourer of worlds. I chose to draw him eating a cake and tiny, for, ya know a tiny Galactus. Here! For your eyes is how I went from start to finish:

The first step was started in my brain picture: thought bubble, mice running in wheel. "Aha, I got it!"

I started off by using some basic Canson vellum nothing special 9" x 12", using a non photo blue pencil (I use a Koh-I-Noor mechanical pencil)
I sketched two large circles which became the body and head for Lil' Galactus.

When I felt comfortable enough with what I had (see:6-hrs later) I began inking and adding value, I chose to go with
a cross-hatch, I used Sakura Microns, the size escapes me and I used a micron brush tip to do the outline.

I decided to throw in Silver Surfer.

The finished piece, did I mention how I LOATHE his damn antennae thingy-ma-bobs!! also I hate how the cake came out.
